Job Description

Cogdill Farm Supply is now hiring a full-time feed delivery truck driver! This position involves driving a single-axle bulk feed truck delivering to local farmers, and assisting with feed mill and feed store operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate feed delivery trucks in a safe, professional manner and maintain a clean vehicle and working environment.
• Take care to avoid damaging customer property during deliveries.
• Assist the feed mill to meet customer requests, and be alert to avoid delivery errors.
• Properly handle tickets, BOL’s, and other transport documentation.
• Know the basic mechanical skills necessary to operate and maintain a commercial vehicle.
• Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and regular maintenance/repairs as needed.
• Assist all departments with operational duties as needed.
• Provide prompt, professional, and courteous customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain a Class-A or Class-B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Understand the ongoing need for timely feed delivery, and the occasional need to work long hours, or on a weekend or holiday: animals need to eat every day, and it's our job to ensure they have feed.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with livestock; especially beef cattle.
• Prior experience driving a truck or operating agricultural equipment.
• Experience maintaining diesel vehicles and/or ag equipment.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and related experience and/or training.
• Basic computer skills.
